How MoneyMetrics calculators work

Calculation Methods

Calculators use standard financial math (amortization, compound growth, tax brackets) with parameters published for the labelled year (for example, 2026 federal and provincial brackets and CPP/EI ceilings where applicable). AI-assisted features only send the inputs you submit to the server; they are optional.

Data Sources

Rates shown in illustrative or comparison tables may be placeholders or estimates - always confirm current rates, fees, and eligibility with your bank, credit union, or card issuer. Official limits and rules are published by the Canada Revenue Agency and other regulators.

Key Principles

  • All calculations use official 2026 CRA tax brackets and limits
  • Province-specific rules are applied automatically
  • Results are illustrative estimates for planning purposes
  • Always verify with official sources before making decisions
